Every six months each school bus completes a Certificate of Fitness (CoF) check. These checks confirm that the vehicle meets safety standards. You can read more about CoFs at the NZTA website.
Each time a bus completes a CoF check the check sheet is submitted to School Admin for review. School Admin checks the document for issues and records the expiry date in the Vehicle Register. If a vehicle has failed a CoF check, School Admin discusses the event with the bus operator and reviews the operator’s maintenance processes.
BoT review: Board members can audit School Admin’s performance of these functions by sample checking the following check sheets against the Vehicle Register.
